A Tour to the Origin of Japan with Locals:Awaji Island

Authentic Japan is excited to present a special 2-day, 1-night tour in collaboration with Kristina Minami, a renowned travel producer active in Japan, designed to showcase the unique charm of Awaji Island.

The theme of the tour is “Reset.”

This thoughtfully crafted journey brings together the essence of Awaji Island, where breathtaking natural beauty and traditional lifestyles still flourish. The itinerary includes visits to sacred shrines, a hands-on incense-making workshop, farm-to-table meals, and a tour of a lively fish auction at a local fishing port.

Why not take a break from your daily routine, reset your mind and body, and spend some quiet time reconnecting with yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of Awaji Island?

Kristina Minami

Kristina Minami

Kristina Minami is a Tokyo-based travel producer and creative director. Since moving to Japan in 2016, she has gained hands-on experience in the inbound tourism industry, including launching and serving as assistant general manager at a hotel in Tokyo.

She later became involved in international promotional projects for local governments and private companies, and currently serves as the CEO of Inner Japan Inc., focusing on regional branding and cultural preservation. Through her Instagram account, she shares hidden cultural gems and tranquil travel destinations across Japan with over 310,000 followers.

For this tour, Kristina personally visited Awaji Island and worked closely with Authentic Japan’s navigator to supervise and co-design the itinerary, carefully unearthing the region’s unique qualities and crafting meaningful experiences.

A message from Kristina Minami:
“I chose this island because of a deeply memorable experience I had when I first visited nearly ten years ago. Awaji Island has a unique atmosphere, a sense of sincerity in its people, vegetables with incredible flavor (especially the famously sweet Awaji onions!), and incredibly fresh seafood. Over time, I found myself returning again and again—and with each visit, I felt my perspective on the world gently shift and soften.”
